Try this to listen to Air America Radio..works for me
Edited on Mon Apr-05-04 11:46 AM by dweller
pretty simple really.
I've tried w/out success to connect from DU links, AirAM homepage, always getting server errors, etc...

so i ran a search for 'real player audio' on my hard drive, b/c opening realplayer always took me to a different player...anyway, found the real player audio, opened it, and under 'file' was the previous address (which i would type here, but can't see the whole thing) and it brought it up and connected immediately, clear streaming, etc.

and still getting server errors from the other links!

try it,
dp

edit: the file was actually 'audio.rm' with a 1 on the icon, and i didn't have to login, etc for Air Am.

2. That worked for me!
once I reloaded the stream, I saved it as a "favorite" in real audio..

3. would you please copy
and paste the method in your own post?

i must be on a universal ignore list or something...

also, for the future use, i copied the audio.rm file to my desktop, renamed in Air Am, and gave it a nifty icon...tested it, and it works fine, so i'll just have to click it to get there from now on.

thanks for reading, glad it helped,
peace,
dp

4. there are a lot of us who won't use real player because of bad problems
with it in the past. If I can't get it on windows media player, I won't go there. Real Player has mucked the PC up and forced 3 lobotmoies.
I did try to do the Real Alternative player by so far not getting it to work. I managed to get the WLIB stream back though.

Do you think all the stations streaming are just so overwhelmed that they are having server trouble? I would love if that is the problem so many of us are having.

The alternative is that somebody might be trying to interfere with folks getting the truth out. A lot of not so nice people want very much for Air America to fail so they can keep the air ways "All Spin All the Time" and mouth off that there is no audience for anything but the BS they broadcast.

Really seems like the sites streaming are pretty busy. Frustrating as all get out, but it's a good thing!

i'm still getting the server errors from links.

the rp audio was not my choice either, but is what opened from the AAR homepage originally, and i couldn't get it to reopen from my RP program....that's why i searched for the audio player, and got the previous link i had used...and it works fine.

 i understand not liking realplayer, but it's working w/out a glitch for me, not dropped once for about an hour now.

here's the link that's in my rp audio player
://play.rbm.com/?url=airam/airam/live/live.rm&proto=rtsp
(put http in front of it) i had to edit this so it wouldn't show as a link, cutting off the end of it...

try that in your windows media player, don't know if it will work or not. good luck.
