My priest made an interesting statement about Sen. Kerry today...
I am on the governing council(vestry) of my church and we were having our monthly meeting after this mornings service.
One of the other vestry members mentioned rising gas prices, another Bush. Father Bushey states, "Well, there are elections this fall and while I don't know for sure what kind of President he would make. He made one mighty fine Officer."
He had served briefly with Kerry in Nam at a Firebase.

2. Its the Opus Dei nuts that have politicized the Church
attacking Kerry on abortion and Kerry taking Communion. They are trying to religiously tie Catholics to voting against Kerry. I'm one Catholic that absolutely won't stand for it.

I'm waiting for my Kerry sticker in the mail. I can't wait for the first Sunday at church when I have it on the bumper. I want to gauge the reactions. My guess is I'll get a lot of good reactions.

3. Well, I assume you are Catholic, so ask your priest if Kerry shows
at his church to take communion, will he serve him? On another thread, they say that Catholic hiearchy is starting a full court press to deny him communion and it has the blessing of the Vatican.

4. Those priests who do this are full of hypocrisy; the Church has
made the taking of communion a personal decision. If you follow that line of thinking, all of us sinning non-famous Catholics get to take communion and the famous ones don't? They had just better not go there.

There are plenty of Catholic priests and eucharistic ministers ready to give communion to John Kerry.

5. I'm Episcopalian, Sen. Kerry would be welcome at our church as
are all who believe in Christ.

7. ? Why Doesn't He Know What Kind of President JK Will Be?
Edited on Mon Apr-05-04 09:41 AM by UTUSN
How come Shrub didn't have to spell out ahead of time what kind of crap usurper he would be? And now, despite the DISASTER he has wreaked on this country and the world, why would any supposed spiritual person entertain choosing him over just about ANYBODY else?

The administration of the Church flogs the single-issue (abortion) while shelving the 99 other social justice issues the Church shares with the Dem agenda. The scary looking nun on EWTN did free commercials for the Repukes throughout Campaign 2000.

8. Perhaps, as a priest, he doesn't want to endose Kerry directly.
He might entertain some of those old-fashioned ideas about separation of church & state.

Sounds like he gave an "unofficial" recommendation, though.

9. Thank you, that is exactly what he was doing, he and I are the most
outspoken Democrats in the whole church.

12. After Mass a few Sundays back
Our Associate Pastor walked behind my car...."Say I sure like that bumper sticker"......Well Father says I, "would you like one?"...."No" he said "I can't display it"...."Well how about one for your glove box"...."Gladly he says"...

Kerry would be able to recieve Communion in our Church and would recieve a warm welcome to go with it...
