... he would not do other fiaths because he does not belive they are true.... he made a film that is very violent but at times is really effecting there where pionts in it where i cried... no film has made me cry scince i was 9!... it is a work of faith for him...
It made me cry…Arguably Gibson has included his own perspectives, e.g. the 'beating up' before the first trial; the 'extended' scourging; the indisciplined soldiers in their treatment that risked Jesus' life before his execution; the crow and the thief.
It’s a powerful presentation. Jesus loves his enemies, he forgives all his executioners, he wants people to eat his body and drink his blood. And Mary? Wow! That moment! She remembers when she could help him...but no longer!
Firstly our belief is he died for us, so who killed him? We did! Secondly, A hero in the script is Simon of Cyrene. The soldier eyeballs him and calls him a 'Jew' in such a way as to call him a lowlife, and yet he comes across as a hero. A strong figure that disapproves of what is happening. He represents the Jews who disagreed with what happened. Only the few extreme Jews wanted him dead. The film is not anti-Semitic. Only a paranoid Jew can believe the film is anti -Semitic.
For all Jews, I killed him, you killed him we all did the same… that is why it is Gibson’s hand which is filmed when nailed to the cross… WE did it we humanity did it!.. we killed the manifestation of god because he rocked the boat and challenged are comfortable existence… he does it now to the left and the right now as he did it 2000 years ago IMHO!
Added to this his next film is to be a strong concerning the events in the old testament, that explain the origins of Hanukah, but then as that is a rebellion against the promotion of Greeks gods by the Jewish upper classes I suppose that it is racist towards Greeks!
I really wish people would just go and see this film and tell me what is so bad about it… I disagree with Gibson on a number of issues however on this film I cannot fault him…
