2004- the first presidential election that has me weeping openly
I'm normally a fairly composed individual, but it seems like every time I hear a good speech, or a good Mike Malloy rant, I just get overwhelmed lately. Maybe I'm just too acutely aware of the situation, the importance, too much for my own good?

hell even the droning speeches Kerry gives have moved me to tears! :silly: I don't know if I'll be able to handle the election itself, win or lose!

Anyone else becoming a blubbering mass of goo over this?

2. Yeah, I know
I sort of understand what you are saying. We tend to be quite passionate about our beliefs and we understand the import of the election. I can't seem to think of much else...

8. Welcome to DU!
I feel your pain. Truly. It's a RARE day when I wake up in the morning and DO NOT immediately become upset about what's happening to OUR country, OUR White House, OUR future! More often than not, it's the last thing I grimace about before I go to sleep, unless of course I've just seen something interesting in "In Style," "Vogue," or "Bead & Button" (my bedside reading).

5. in all honesty
it's like PTSD after Nov election fiasco
and everything that has followed. I always thought i was too sensitive,
and i went into a 'shutdown' mode since then.
I cope, but that's about it.

peace,
dp

10. There is a sense of impending doom these days
Often when in the middle of some mundane enjoyable activity, I pause and wonder if activities such as these will be around to enjoy for too much longer. I do worry a lot about the middle class disappearing.
