I've decided to become a Republican
I know it sound strange coming to me, but last night in a drug-fueled haze I came to a revelation: Republicans were right after all. Look the war in Iraq may have its problems, but you have to consider the mass graves. Giant corporations are our friends, and global warming probably doesn't exist. Allowing gays to marry would destroy the sanctity of marriage and rich people deserve their tax breaks because they have obviously worked harder than we have. So I'm sorry guys, but I leave you now to join the Young Conservatives of Texas. Bush/Cheney '04!

(April Fool's!)

3. As John Kenneth Galbraith said...
"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."

Occasionally, as an exercise in fairness, I've tried to clear my head of any bias and conditioning and project myself into mind of a republican, attempting to seriously consider their point of view. You know, checking myself to keep it real.

Usually, I can only maintain this for a few moments before I burst out in laughter, shaking my head.

Really.

I voted in the Republican Primary. ( It was recommended to vote against the real right wingers. ) I live in heavily Republican country.

I am thinking about forming a Republicans for Kerry group.
