The "President" just gave a great speech .
It was on Real Audio on www.moveon.org

He took the Bush Administration to task. He enumerated the "lies" that were used to take us into war in Iraq. He listed the claims of how the Bush taxcuts would improve our economy. He then stated that they have all been proven false.

Later in his speech, he talked about honor and integrity. He stated that the Clinton-Gore Administration was honorable in every way that they handled foreign policy and economic policy. He asked that the Bush Administration make public the PDB of August 6, 2001. Since they now have the right to look at everything you are now reading at the library, the people should have a right to see what the pResident is reading in regards to terrorist warnings. Furthermore, he said that he will endorse a candidate at the right time.

4. Thanks for the post.
One thing that confused me though: Why did you put "President" in quotes? It's President Gore and "president" Bush.

10. We shouldn't let this story die so quickly...
Because it is obvious that the cheerleading corporate media want it to die. The only reason MSNBC was there at all was to see if Gore was going to announce his candidacy. Once they saw that he was not going to do that, they left his speech to return to the "Ahnuld" story. They are spinning it so fast that it makes you dizzy.

Gore's speech deserves more attention. It deserved to have at least one station in this nation broadcast it...somewhere there should have been one liberal station that saw the newsworthiness of the event.

Media still ignoring speech.

Faux had a snippet which played it as an "anti-war speech to an invited anti-war audience".....spinning is making me dizzy!

22. I would like to shut down their station.

Until they start acting like a news agency and report the news.

What a POS that was.

I have the oppurtunity to watch Al Gore talk about Iraq, the economy and see the fourth estate perform their civic duty by televising a newsworthy event and what do I get in return?

As soon as Al starts to get interesting by speaking the truth the news station gets scared, fades out on coverage and goes right to the pundits.

They are all hors.

and certainly NOT if one strictly interprets Florida election laws and precludes military votes that were cast late IIRC.

16. Gore did not lose the election
Like us, he was on the losing end of a bloodless, judicial coup d'etat.

And as a result, Democratic Underground was created.

13. The "boring liar". Grrrrrrrrrr.....
How was the media allowed to hang *that* lie out there about this clearly, clearly honest, affable man? Talk about crimes against the universe....

The speech is filled with such clarity and wisdom and depth that it hurt my heart to hear it. Still raw, still have some grief, exacerbated with each new and outrageous BushCo assault.

I'm glad Al spoke up- threw his considerable weight behind the truth that the elephant in the room must go.

Will Dean or any of the candidates back up Al? Kerry is making a fool of himself by outing Rove on 20 seconds of input on a conservation issue. Is Kerry a Rove operative? KEEP the focus on saving America.

20. Good speech
Not only took Bush to task for lying on Iraq intelligence, but for cooking the books on economy, ecology, tax cuts etc. Outlined how the administration is systematically undermining representative democracy and civil rights. Well worth the read.
