Where is the Ed Schultz thread?
I really like this guy. Never heard of him before.

What is the deal?

Listening to him now.

1. Me too -- I like Big Ed.
He has been on since January, but Sirius started passing him on in February -- and I've listened ever since. Big Ed and I disagree on a few things -- as an ex-social-worker who worked with the poor, we must not return to back-alley abortions (Big Ed is personally 'against abortion'). And I, as a ConLaw student, respectfully believe that the words 'under God' should not be in the Pledge, as they are divisive and a promotion of religion. But other than that...we agree. Always fun to listen to him. I was going to post my link to his website, but it is not working right now...must research.

2. I like him too, but I didn't realize he was anti-choice, yuck.

He read one of my emails on the air yesterday! (Granted, he didn't read the end, which contained the most germane point, but oh well. He said I was smart!)

Here's a link:

On edit: is he opposed to CHOICE? I mean, Kucinich is personally opposed to abortion too, but votes pro-choice and believes women should have the right to choose.

3. Congrats!
I'm reserving judgment. First of all, my progressive friends do not have to agree with me on everything. Second of all, no one does better at campaigning for Kerry and seeing he gets a fair deal, and thirdly, he may just mean some kind of personal belief about sometime in the process -- he certainly has made clear that he believes that Choice will continue. He needs to be a social worker for awhile, though. Anti-choicers were never around when I needed to find a family to adopt a child (virtually all of my kids required patience through a year-long court procedure and an understanding that they likely had been exposed to street drugs in utero). And I wonder if he understands that birth control pills (that are helping me with an ovarian problem now) would be threatened in an extreme antichoice environment because they are technically prevent implantation/growth of the fertilized egg. We absoutely must, in view of what is really going on with the poor and abused in this society, have Plan B readily available, as well as Norplant, DNC's, and the Pill. We need loving parents ready and willing waiting after that child is born (and capable). Maybe Eddie just needs to read my rant.

4. His link does not work for me
I've emailed him twice and they said they were working on the site, but it has been a month now and it is still broken for me. Since I've listened to many many radio shows over the net, I know it is not my machine.

6. I think that they are growing so fast....
that they are overwhelmed. We must have the patience of Buddha as our progressive sites work out their problems. They are adding stations quite rapidly, and that is a good thing.

8. Portland will run Randi Rhodes next (delayed)
I'm really glad because I wanted to listen to both. I wish they weren't on at the same time.
