There's a phrase a-comin', Condi

For all of us old enough to remember - "executive privledge" is just around the corner.

We can see it in your eyes, and your body language. We can see it in the rehearsed answers, and the insistence of relying on hackneyed focus grouped messages and catch phrases.

Oh yes, Condi - it's coming. The fool you work for will try it, for he has no arrows left now in the quiver. You are no match for a simple taped interview, so you are now our very own 21st century version of executive privledge. They know you will fold like a freshly laundered suit under the weight of truth, so rather than face the facts they send you to the altar in that very same suit. Such a pity that you know not what the altar hides.

Enjoy your new role Condi, but not for long. History shows it killed the last group who tried it, and we know the nasty habit that history has of repeating itself.

Look for a cool and quiet place, perhaps under a tree, and prepare yourself.

2. Hiding behind Executive Privilege only adds to a possible suspicion that
Condoleeza Rice is becoming the Bush Administration scapegoat. Maybe Rice should not be shielded behind Executive Privilege and maybe, which sounds extreme, hide behind the 5th Amendment.

Something does not add up here. Linking Iraq with 9/11 and undiscovered WMDs its such a mixed message. It demonstrates that some mistakes were made and wrong judgments were made regarding our future national security. The Bush Administration needs to fess up. Rice you should go to public hearings of the 9/11 Commission and try to put this to rest.

4. 9/11 Commission = White House Whitewash
Hello Sea Hawky,
The 9/11 Commission's executive director is Philip Zelikow.
Who served on the president's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board,
worked under US Secretary of State James Baker during the first Bush
government; also spent three years on Bush Sr.'s National Security Council, and working with Condoleeza Rice,
co-authored two books with her.

The Fix Is In.

8. Wow, could we read a little more into that please?
And maybe make a few more connections that don't exist.

"a cool and quiet place"

Such as under a tree in the shade.

Geez, can we please try not to look for offense in everything everyone else ever says? Contrary to popular belief, there is not a conspiracy hiding behind every statement ever made, and this bitterness is simply ridiculous and misguided. Accusing someone of racism in this instance is ludicrous.

Why do I get the feeling that this has something to do with whom DB supported and still supports in his sig line? :eyes:

13. You don't think that...
claiming that DB's statement "sounds like lynching" is an accusation of racism?

Uh, ok. Sure.

In the real world, people look for shade on hot days under trees. I find it rather surprising that you don't seem to have known that and made the connection. Perhaps you need to get out more.

To paraphrase Freud, sometimes a tree is just a tree.

9. What??!??!?!?

For goodness sakes, slink, step out of the surreal world that is college and check into real life for a bit.

The metaphor was about lying down and preparing for the "ending" of her life as a viable political entity. Didn't you catch the previous line(s) about executive privledge "killing" the Nixon people?

I could have bet a million bucks that this could never have been misconstrued as a "lynching" reference, but then again...

10. They're already using that gambit...
...although they call it 'separation of powers'.

12. I know, but can "ep" be far behind?

Someone will make the connection, and once the phrase gets into the lexicon (again) it's "bye bye Condi."

(note: the phrase "bye bye Condi" is of course figurative in nature) :)
