Gazpacho-eating surrender monkeys take France's crown

Sunday, March 28, 2004

By Michael Bowers
Star columnist

Since 1940 the word "France" has been synonymous among many detractors with "surrender."

But now, in a blitzkrieg strike, Spain has wrested away the crown of unmanliness.

Who knew the gazpacho-eaters had it in them?

The French at least held out for nine days against the Third Reich.

1. How many Frenchman does it take to defend Paris?
The number is not known.

I agree it's a rotten reputation the right wing likes to pin on France, but I must admit that some of the jokes make me chuckle.

You don't have to bother admonishing me; I already feel bad about laughing.

3. How many Frenchmen died in WWII?
595,000

How many Americans?

413,000

If the French are cowards, then what does that make us?

2. Yeah, it looks like even if Bush wins again, the rest of the planet
is being driven left...no doubt a good thing for everyone, in the long run.

And I just wonder how long we could have held the Wehrmacht back in those days, had the attack been launched from Canada, at Washington DC? Probably not even nine days.

Like so much of our socalled 'history' this is based on a canard that is worse than a lie...pretty much in line with the myth that 'we' won the war. We beat the Japanese, no doubt, but in the end sidestepped an estimated million American military casualties from the invasion of the Home Islands by using nuclear weapons-against military and civilians indiscriminately. Russia and Germany both lost more men in the siege of Berlin alone, than America did in all theatres combined, the entire war.

I really don't think the europeans are much impressed with these kinds of slanders...as they are only an indication of American ignorance. You can hear the drums beginning to beat in this country against the europeans. Foolishness. And worse-dangerous foolishness.

We need to get rid of Bush, and return to the community of western nations, before it is too late.
