LIHOP makes SLC Tribune column
http://www.sltrib.com/2004/Mar/03282004/utah/151963.asp

Tom, the 9-11 second-guessers and finger-pointers are hitting their peak. Or at least we can hope it's their peak. I actually fear they are just getting started and that we will have another seven months of investigations and accusations.
In fact, there is so much finger-pointing going on it is a wonder they don't get their arms tangled up and choke themselves. Not that such an event would be a bad thing.
The political attack has become so severe that there are suggestions that President Bush knowingly delayed action prior to 9-11 so that he could use it to justify going after Saddam. That's preposterous. Does anyone really believe that any of our major politicians, no matter their party affiliation, is so cold-blooded as to fail to prevent such a loss of life simply for political gain? I don't buy it. And I think the attack is in incredibly poor taste, even poorer than any political advertisement we have seen to date.

2. tom barberi is one sharp stone
I don't know where you're getting your news, but I suggest you stop hanging out with known druggies. The mainstream media has kept up a constant pro-Bush drum beat since W. was "selected."

wonder if he knows about DU

3. The "How Could You Think Such A Thing! " defense
"Does anyone really believe that any of our major politicians, no matter their party affiliation, is so cold-blooded as to fail to prevent such a loss of life simply for political gain?

This is similar to Rice's televised statement last year about no one could have foreseen that terrorists would take airplanes and slam them into buildings. (Who could have thought such a thing!)

The phony incredulity response is a Bush administration staple. I think they are well-coached in staying away from the facts in mounting their defense.

4. Along those same lines...(from my favorite Ari press conference)

MR. FLEISCHER: I haven't seen the story. And you already have the answer, about what this will be decided on. But think about the implications of what you're saying. You're saying that the leaders of other nations are buyable. And that is not an acceptable proposition. (Laughter.)

5. Yeah... when that gets wheeled out is when I start getting scared
A real defense would just drop 3 tons of hard statistic on the head of an accuser to permanently shut them up. When the entire defense is "How Dare You....", I really start wondering if there is something to the charge.

I've been a LIHOP advocate, but in the sense that there's all these questions unanswered that look real bad, and the LIHOP questions have to be answered. I don't think I actually thought LIHOP was actually what happened on 9/11. However, I knew we had to answer LIHOP now, because of how bad it's been since the Warren Commission refused to look at Grassy Knoll questions.

If I start hearing a whole lot of "How dare they..." real soon, it's going to look suddenly like it's much more possible.

6. Well, yet another "I told you so"...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=1297885&mesg_id=1299940

Republicans always use MIHOP to shut down investigations...

(Bush Critic): There are many, many unanswered questions about 9/11. And most disturbing of all are the indications that the administration impeded attempts to stop 9/11.

(Bush Defender): Are you saying that the President of the United States worked with the terrorists to kill 3000 Americans?

(Bush Critic): <<nervous laughter>> Of course not. It's just that there are questions...

And I've seen that little exchange played out on news programs again and again.

9. the naivete is touching...
unfortunately I think that most Americans are so ridiculously naive that they actually believe this, that their leaders would never do anything like that for power and wealth.

Saddam, Milosevic, Noriega, of course, THEY would and did do that.

But American leaders? Never!

How can people be so absolutely naive, especially after what has come out about the lies and deception practiced by this Bush regime?" :wtf:

8. I like to see it framed this way
Bartcop frames it very well, something like this: would a group of men with no conscience allow (or cause?) the death of several thousand Americans in order to achieve for themselves limitless world power, control of a huge portion of the world's resources, and unending billions of dollars of personal wealth?
