Anyone else hearing those John Birch Society radio ads?
Selling their "Get US out of the UN information kits"? It's been by far the most aired ad on our local (ultraconservative, of course) SE Alabama talk radio station for the past two weeks or so. They try to scare people with claims that the UN wants to kill our children, take over our military, seize everyones guns and property, is trying to make us lose the war on terrorism, etc. The really scary part is that people around here are gullible enough to believe in their wacky conspiracy theories.

2. John Birch society founded on a lie...
John Birch was a US spy in China, pretending to be a missionary. When the Communists caught him spying, they executed him.

The society that bears his name considers him a martyr to the anti-communist cause, claiming he was executed for being a Christian missionary. A lie.

None dare call it Reason.

3. Who is/was John Birch?
I remember hearing the John Birch Society mentioned way back in the 1960s. I couldn't remember anything about it other than the name. Maybe that was because I didn't know anything to remember.
