Question: Was Rice under oath before the 9-11 commission?
I have heard it asserted that Rice won't testify under oath. But I assumed that it meant "publicly" under oath.

News reports say that she has already testified for 4 hours privately. My question is: Was she under under oath?

Are there any news links that answer that question?

9. A Jesus freak who intends to LIE
If she lies under oath, she's destined for the Christian hell that the Bush spiritual adviser La Haye has lovingly described to her more than once.

Her testimony under oath would have been enlightening. Her unsworn testimony was utterly worthless. This fact has to be put out there for all the other Jesus freaks to see. She is willing to lie and cheat for her boss, but not willing to do it under oath.

2. NO - and she wants to keep it that way - and in private!
She is very trustworthy.

no need for any silly oath.

4. and that's the problem...
she lied to the commission, and she knows if she repeats her lies under oath, the whole house of cards falls. Bush* would rather have her humiliated than tell the truth.

6. She was not under oath, and refuses to be put under oath (w/ link)
Here's a link:

In a Feb. 3 interview the newly minted commission member Bob Kerrey, the former Senator from Nebraska, now the president of the New School University, said that Ms. Rice’s interview will not be held under oath, and the results of the interview are not to be made public.

10. lying to federal investigators is a crime
under oath or not.

from a john o'sullivan article
""Now, you can lie quite legally to private persons or to the state police (though it is highly inadvisable, as well as immoral, to do so). Lying is a crime either when the liar is under oath or when he is talking to federal investigators. And though Stewart had not committed the crime, she had lied about not committing it. If the law were not an ass, she would have been charged with obstructing injustice""

Martha Stewart had her life destroyed and faces federal prison for lying to federal investigators while _not_ under oath.

Is the 911 commission not a federal investigation?
Are they not federal investigators?

Oath or not I think anyone caught lying to the commission would be open to prosecution. But you would need a "just"ice department rather than a psycho-fanatic-fundo-christian-neoconservative arm of the white house as prosecutors.
