Six-thousand dollars for each man, woman, and child in Iraq....

With 25 million people and $150 billion spent thus far, that would average about $6,000 spent per person in that small country. That amount spent in America no doubt could have done a lot to help people find new jobs and to train them with new technologies, etc but they chose to spend it in Iraq in the "war on terrorism".

Also, one might think that the country would be much better off today than under Saddam, with that kind of money spent? And indeed, they tell us that things are better. Economically, that would not be hard to believe. However, once this check is gone and all the money is spent, what are they left with? Anarchy, killing, terrorism, another dictator? Once we have checked out of he hotel and the money is no longer left on the dresser, what then?

...to destroy a country that now needs to be rebuilt, to kill 10,000 plus Iraqi citizens and now to occupy, police and control the population. How many Iraqis were there back in 1989 before Bush-I began the first Iraqi war? How many Iraqi people are maimed and permanently disabled because of the American military use of horrific anti-personal weaponry and weapons that used depleted uranium? What long term affects will there be on the people of Iraq as a consequence of using all of these known and unknown error weapons? The cost of this war so far is a mere drop in the ocean compared to the future costs if we are true to our word of bringing freedom and democracy to Iraq. How will Bush-II own up to that responsibility and obligation?:eyes: More tax cuts for the rich and placing the burden on the middle and lower class Americans for generations to come?:mad:
