Chris Matthews: "Hit Me With Your Best Shot--Fire Away!"
link:www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4497771|Fiesty Punches and Counterpunches in the Campaign for President]

...(Says) MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. “...eight months before the election...these guys are...not slowly doing their Sunday punch. They‘re banging each other hard.” Here are some of their more recent quips...

ANTI-BUSH AD:“During the past three years, it’s true George W. Bush has created more jobs. Unfortunately, they were created in places like China,” -from Media Fund, March 17, 2004...

CONSERVATIVE GROUP: Parody of a Mastercard ‘Priceless’ ad to attack Sen. Kerry’s wealth: "Massachusetts Senator John Kerry. Hairstyle by Christophe’s $75. Designer shirts: $250. Forty-two foot luxury yacht: $1 million. Four lavish mansions and beachfront estate: Over $30 million. Another rich, liberal elitist from Massachusetts who claims he’s a man of the people. Priceless." -March 8, 2004

Heard any good campaign attacks lately? E-mail us at [email protected] and let us know so we can include them in Hardball Hard Shots.

The list consists mostly of sound bites and official campaign commericals, but if he's willing to feature material from other sources, what do you say that we help the man out? I've already sent in the link to Take Back The Media's response to the second ad. Does anybody know where that How Bush Stole Florida film is?

1. Does anyone else think..
Kerry got a really good deal on that "hairstyle"?

I mean, how many other public figures pay so little? Reagan probably spent that much just for hair dye each week.

3. It's his money, who cares how he spends it?
It's not like he's fleecing the American public every time he stops at a pig farm or NASCAR race or a 9-11 "memorial" service/fundraiser...

Anyway, where I'm from $75 is pretty standard for a haircut.

5. The winner was Al Gore but he didn't get the prize and it was due to
K. Harris just like you said. But what was your point?
