We might actually be able to retake the Senate
here's a not so impossible scenario:

we win CO, IL and AK
we "lose" GA (it's not like we hold it now)
we pick up one of these three: OK, MO, PA
we lose one of those two: NC, SC
we hang on to LA and FL

that's a +2 pickup, making it 51-49 in our favor. And then we have a good chance at getting Chaffee to cross the aisle, making it 52-48.

However, we can simply maintain status quo and retake the Senate. If we retake the White House, the VP will be the tiebreaking vote. Therefore, we'll own a 50-50 Senate. So if we break even and get Chaffee to switch, we'll have it.

1. Specter is in serious trouble
He may even lose the GOP primary to a real flat earther type, so Pennsylvania looks like a good opportunity for a pick up.

3. Man that is some kind of optimistic numbers you have their
that assumes no losses of Dem incumbents, and many of those guys including that wimp Daschel are vulnerable.
It would be nice to have a place where we could make predictions about the senate and house races and track them over time.
We could set up a couple of reps in each state/jurisdiction to keep us up to date on the race over the summer. It would also be a place for people to go to find out about progressive candidates positions and help raise donations for them. Hey that ain't a bad idea! Has anybody got a website we could use for this?

4. It could happen
After what I saw at the caucuses, I've begun to think that a Watergate like purge is not impossible.

5. Sun to rise in morning
Of course the Dems could take the Senate.

The House is another matter.

8. Soon you'll have possibly the best senatorial combo in the country
which we used to have, until such a great man died and we got Sen. Bush Asskisser in his place
