I know its a waste of time...but I sent this to the Log Cabin Republicans
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1099520/posts

Along with a note that politely asked them to reconsider due to the depth of the overt hatred and revulsion many Republicans feel for them. I invited them to rethink their priorities.

As I said, a waste of time. But, it couldn't hurt...

There's some of the rankest bigotry I've seen in a long time on this thread.

Again, it's like being a black person in the KKK...you cannot be gay and remain a repug...sorry.

2. I was surprised
Van Deerlin (a former California GOP legislator) wrote the piece that was copied into FR. While I disagreed with many of Deerlin's ideas, it was a sound analysis of the wicket into which Bush has stuck himself.

The rank bigotry comes from the peanut gallery -- but even there, some Freepers were sticking up for Deerlin's points.

It reinforces the evidence that there really are two primary factions in the Republican party -- the conservatives, and the neo-conservatives (also known as the neo-Pharisees).

Actually, the two primary factions in the GOP are the neo-conservatives and the neo-Pharisees (i.e. the "Christian" right).

3. Perhaps they're gay *and* rich.
Money means more than freedom to them, perhaps.

9. Exactly
Log Cabin Repuglicans are men living off two male executive salaries, or they inherited a fortune, and they want to hang onto as much of it as they can. They despise taxation in any form, have no loyalty to anything but their money. They especially seem to resent any pittance give to abandoned women and children. Just my take, folks, from the few I've had the distinct displeasure to know.

Pity them and make sure anybody they back is defeated.

12. Not true
I have very wealthy gay friends who own their own successful business and they believe in gay rights over big tax breaks. They hate dumbya.
I think it's about image, gay men don't feel accepted by their counterpart str8 male peers, therefore, to go unnoticed as a Repuklican and gay person makes them feel like their one of the good ol' boys. Or it could be they are still thinking with their dick when they go vote as well? For whatever reason, the Repuklicans have never embraced homosexuals, women rights and elderly care, good old white male apartheid. Repuklicians take money from the poor, the poor vote for them, the Repuks take rights away from gays, gays vote for them, Repuks take rights away from women, women still vote for them, Repuks take rights AND money from the elderly, the elderly still vote for them...UNLESS you are a white male business owner with special interest, there should be zero reason to vote for any Repuk party line...the neoUSC United States of Conservatism.

But, overall, your right. Some freepers were really showing their asses on that one. I hope that Log Cabin Republicans will get the message. Why would they bother being a part of some organization that hates them so much?
