1. 5 minutes to go before Holy Joe
I can't hardly wait for him to speak of our noble crusade in Iraq, and the wonderful virtues of PATRIOT 2.

Maybe Lieberman will drop out?

2. Oh Gawd, Wolfie calls Lieberman a "front runner"
Wolfie also has Tom Ridge as his first guest, followed by DLC Chair Evan Bayh to discuss WMD. Lieberman is on the last segment to discuss the campaign. Wolfie called Lieberman a "front runner" to the nomination.

That's the teaser that Wolfie gave as he broke for commercials.

He is having Joe Wilson on WMD next.

Lieberman follows Wilson.

Joe: Saddam wanted to dominate the Arab world.

Wolf: But there are a lot bad guys with horrible records

Joe: Each one is different......this wasn't a pre-emptive war

Joe: Yeah, he did exaggerate, but it doesn't matter the world, America is now a safer place

11. Lieberman on Iraq
On Iraq: "War was not a mistake... War was necessary... Saddam was brutal dictator... Saddam wanted to dominate the Arab world... I never viewed this (Iraq) as preemptive war, but as the end of the first Gulf war... America is safer..."

30. Hey Kef, I just had 4 Blackhawks buzz my house in formation
They were flying real low, and loud enough to vibrate the glass on the window and be heard above the air conditioner.

Is this related to the Brickyard, or is there something going on????

21. Joe just gave the GOP *the* anti-Dean talking points
Watch for it.

"Dean is weak on defense."

"Dean raises taxes on the middle-class."

"Dean is a ticket to nowhere."

This coming from someone with the personality of a log.

24. He said BATTLE FOR THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE DEM PARTY
Edited on Sun Aug-03-03 12:49 PM by seventhson
He got that part right. And he will lose.

Interesting that Wolf asked about Gore and Leibermann hedged as if he knew something.

Lieberman dissed Gore big time after the last election and I doubt the gracious Gore, who would not forget but would be polite, is telling joe sh*t about his intentions.

Joe acted like he knows but his silence and lack of certainty says VOLUMES. He HAS NO IDEA, but thinks it is a real possibility!!!

I think Gore is back in!!!! YIPPPEEEE!!!!!

It will be announced shortly after Labor Day -- mid-late September!!!

25. Holy Joe did hesitate on the Gore question
particularly on the part about him standing aside for Gore, if Gore were to jump back into the fray.

I thought that Lieberman's complimentary words about Gore and his family sounded phony.

26. You hit on what I think is up
I don't think Joe and Gore are that close at all. He was playing like he's talking to Gore all the time, when I bet they hardly, if ever, speak. He wanted to appear to be more "in" than he is.

So, he hedged his bet just in case Gore does enter, because Joe really has no clue as to what Gore is up to these days.

27. Dean should make statement that he agrees with Lieberman on one issue
It IS about the "heart and soul" of the Democratic Party. That is why we cannot gamble any further with Joe Lieberman Democrats in leadership positions.

28. Better to hear it now than against a Republican.
Let's see how Dean responds. On the one hand, this is Lieberman trying to establish himself as the alternative to Dean, so Dean can help marginalize Lieberman by blowing this off. On the other hand, Dean would get hit with this stuff ceaselessly during the actual election, so he might as well start dealing with it now. As his campaign gathers steam, he's going to be attacked more and more. That Lieberman chose him to attack tells you who the real front runner is.
