5. I have a tech question about online polls and Internet Explorer

Every time I caste a vote on a CNN online poll from home my Browser (IE 6 SP1) just clocks and eventually get a 404 (not found). But I can view the results. I can vote on my work PC (IE 6 SP1), no problem.

Is my Norton Internet Security, my ISP or some setting getting in the way?

6. Why does anyone fight the machines having a paper reciept?

If these politicos believe the machines to be accurate why do they fight the paper reciept? That wont change anything would it?

9. it's partially about maintaining the status quo

I think that if election officials had purchased electronic-voting machines which did print ballots, and some people complained about them, they would be defending THAT-THEORETICAL status quo as much as they are defending the actual, paperless status quo.

Bureacrats often want to announce that everything is fine, no change is needed.
