Indio(CA) has first "Stop the Amendment" rally

and group marry-in. We had a pretty good crowd, considering it was 9AM on a weekday morning; about 50 people. There were two counter protesters. This is where the Riverside county offices for the Coachella Valley are. To date they have refused marriage licenses to same sex couples. The event was well covered by the bored, largely RW, local network media. I was amazed at the ages involved; many in their 60's and 70's ;lots more in their 50's(like me); also 40'sand some 30's. there didn't seem to be anyone in their twenties. I was waiting for us chaining ourselves to the pillars and such but no such luck. how I long for the activist days of my youth. They asked how many couples, and it was most of the attendees,and the longest couple was 47 years together. My partner stopped me from speaking, he is new to this stuff. We will meet in Palm Springs pride center next week to plan our next move. I am NOT the voice of moderation.
