wouldnt it be wonderful if gates were to say "Im sick and tired of bush and his repukes - heres a couple of billion dems - go kick his ass." Sigh - then i woke up.

4. Gates gave Ashcroft $5.000 for his failed 2000 run, MS lobbyist
(Ralph Reed) was loaned to the bush campaign. Reed was being paid by MS and Enron so he didn't charge the bush campaign for his services.

That is one of the many reasons I do not use MS products.

thought gates was more moderate than that - after all he gives away billions to help africans with aids, scholarships etc...NOT a freeper activity.

6. Gates donates for the PR and HUGE tax advantages.
Don't think for a minute his "charitable contributions" are based on compassion or humanity.

p.s. I live in Western Washington and know what I'm talking about.

7. there are always strings attached to his 'gifts' usually the country or
organization has to sign a contract for MS software. Look for him to give big to organizations or countries planning on going open source.
