I'm Canadian, and I'm a Roman Catholic -- albeit a comletely lapsed one -- and I read something to day which makes me wonder why the Hell an American would ever be a Catholic: The Church opposed the American Revolution.

Look, I'm a Catholic. I believe deeply in my RELIGION, but completely denounce the church and the vatican. Most American Catholics are the same.

Even the Vatican doesn't consider "American Catholicism" true to the church.

Let it go.

The Tories are Church of England, which hunted Catholics for sport almost into the 20th century.
