Kaus tried to make the point that Gore was arrogant in this statement, saying "who is HE to" say that Americans are "manipulable," easily led fools, with no ability to judge for themselves the facts given them during the war run up.

7. Heard him on NPR's Day to Day a couple weeks ago...sneering

at everything Dem; I believe he was mocking Howard Dean that day regarding the so called "scream" speech. It's that bloggish "snark" factor...except I believe Kaus has gone so mainstream now that he is more than fair game for bloggers who are still actual outsiders.

Complete arrogant asshole. Kaus is one of these people who regard politics as an opportunity to demean, ridicule and mock anyone who puts their hat in the ring.

Can you imagine what we'd see if the same scrutiny were applied to Kaus, Matthews, et al?
