New AWOL Strategery: Reframe All Questions On Bush's (Lack Of) Service
as a direct assault on the National Guard.

At least twice Bush issued warnings and hints at how this line of questioning was "denegrating the Guard" and that his critics are somehow saying that serving in the Guard is not "true service".

What BULLSHIT!

1. Yep, I haven't heard any of the Democrats denigrate the NG.
They are denigrating an airman who used family power to get into the Guard and then did not fulfill his obligation.

AWOL BUSH - a chickenhawk war-dodging coward!

4. Yes, I was literally screaming "straw man"
at the TV when he was pulling that shit. Worst example of the "straw man" argument I have ever seen.

5. Yep he's doing it right now.

Ooooh, Russert is actually asking followups.

Bush said he DID report. He doesn't say anything about WHAT he did.

Russert asked about leaving 8 months early. Said he went to Harvard Business school.

People have been looking for the records for a long time. He said THEY can't FIND them.

It's all politics according to Bush.

Russert: Would you authorize the release of everything? Bush: Dodges question.

Russert: You didn't volunteer. Bush: NO, I flew fighter jets. Blah, Blah, Blah

Russert is doing OK. I'd prefer that he challenge the "denigrating the guard" talking point.

Russert: Whey would anyone re-hire you as CEO?

This is great because every time he's BEEN a CEO his company has tanked. This should be a democratic talking point. Point out ALL of Don Arbusto's failures.

7. Remember...
what the Democratic candidate-presumptive said in '92:

"We do not need to divide America over who served and how. I have personally always believed that many served in many different ways"

issue were a very minor player. He will pay to have whatever documentation and 'witnesses' he needs available when he is forced to produce it and then the Dems will not have a leg to stand on. I wish we would focus on what is really important...his treason by falsely leading us into two unnecessary wars and his probable role in 9-11.
