WASN'T IT THE BOSTON GLOBE THAT INVESTIGATED BUSH'S MILITARY RECORD IN 2000 AND CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT HE WAS A DESERTER IN 1972-3?

2. Not sure if the Globe . . .
but our Pacifica station in Houston (KPFT) aired an interview with the soldier (27 years of service) who was directed to do the Bush military records cleanup (in Texas). Needless to say, it did not make the nightly news in Houston. The soldier (and I forget his name and rank) said that he had kept quiet all this time until Bush did his little stunt on the aircraft carrier announcing major fighting was "over." The guy got furious because of the depth of Bush's hypocrisy and decided to be interviewed.

I think the show might have been Free Speech Radio News. It aired early last summer (I think--oh, those 60s brain cells and the lack of synapse), but I know it wasn't long after the aircraft carrier stunt. I was listening to it on my commute home between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. CDT.
