John McCain: "Did Somebody Tell Bush We've Already Been to the Moon?"
Watching Senator McCain being interviewed by Jon Stewart on tonight's Daily Show, I can only think, "How did this man lose to Das Wunkerkind?" Oh, good Lord.

Later.

"I think the old SOTU speeches get mixed up with the new SOTU speeches."

4. Holy crap! McCain just tore into Bush
He beat up on Bush's spending.

THIS is what we should be talking about, not that other thing.

6. Who gives a fuck what he said.
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 11:30 PM by KissMyAsscroft

If he really cared about it, he would do something.

He's all talk and a loyal Republican who likes to hear the sound of his own voice.

Why any Democrats here like this guy is beyond me.

7. I'd LOVE to see McCain endorse...
...Kerry. Not likely with any of the others except maybe Clark.

I think Vietnam vet solidarity and pure disgust at what might have been might do it. Can anybody imagine if we had had McCain vs. Gore? We might not like it if the Reps won but at least we would have a man we could proudly call "Mr. President".

21. Nah...
he's still a rightwinger and a Republican through and through. Look at his reactionary voting record.

But, he's a pisser. Great to see a politician joking about the whole thing, even his own side.

He's a really funny guy.

8. I wouldn't vote for McCain
But he's not a bad man- he's one of the few politicians out there that I trust.
But he pissed off the GOP, and that's why he will never run as a Republican; maybe as an Independent.

I'm gonna be thinking "Gills" every time anybody promises something.

and

"I had the sound off."

"Best way."

I didn't know McCain was such a funny guy. I'm still chuckling.

I'm taping the replay.

16. Filthy Dirty Tricks...
to answer your question of "how could he lose to Bush?" Wonder when McCain will come clean about how he really felt about what Rove did to him in South Carolina. I don't get McCain either...he's got every reason to bolt the party.

17. I hear you
I might have even considered voting for him against Al Gore...and that would have been the first vote I ever cast for a Republican. Even though they won the election, they were fools to let him get away.

19. He lost to the Chimp because he was "Gored" by the Media & Rove!
Just like what will happen to the rest of our Dem Lineup if we believe everything the Media says. :-(
