I was talking to Liza about how Bush is trying to put the Iraq war on Clinton. We agreed that although Clinton's policy did seem to be "Iraq can always be bombed at any opportune moment," he would never have done THIS, because the odd bombing raid and a full-scale invasion and occupation are two VERY different things and it's not just a matter of degree.

Then, at some point, Liza said, "But you know what, if anyone could win hearts and minds over there, it would be Bill Clinton."

Seriously. Who can resist the charm of Bill? I'm not saying we should send him over, because, you know, I don't want him blown up; but I think Liza's right. If anyone *was* going to get the Iraqis into flower-throwing mode, it would be Bill.
