Louisiana now has a Democratic Governor
Kathleen Blanco was sworn in this morning and she took the oath in both English and French. To understand her decision to incorporate both languages in her historic day, one would have to be cultured and have a little education. In other words, conservatives won't understand.

On the down side, Mississippi will have a republican Governor tomorrow, the evil hailey barbour.

2. You are thinking of Senators
The previous Governor, Mike Foster, was a lazy, sit on his ass, do nothing, loudly criticize his opponents neanderthal REPUBLICAN.

5. Yee Haw! Laissez les bons temp roulez!
Damn. I wonder if Carville's musing aloud on the tube a couple of weeks back about Louisiana a winnable state in November, even with Howard Dean, is really possible?

I worked for Dukkakis in Louisiana in '88 and believe the state might have been winnable if the DNC hadn't written us off and refused to released some badly needed cash for "walkin' around money" (aka GOTV support).

Here's hoping.

I'm so proud of Louisiana. My 83 year-old mother was so excited to get Blanco. Maybe now the state can get some things done. When I was growing up in Louisiana, it was a fun state to be in. Maybe that will return now!
