A "mind-numbingly boring" propaganda film-Kristin Breitweiser
9-11 widow reviews showtime's DC 911:

<http://www.salon.com/ent/tv/feature/2003/09/08/dc911/index.html>

<snip> "It is understandable that so little time is actually devoted to the president's true actions on the morning of 9/11. Because to show the entire 23 minutes from 9:03 to 9:25 a.m., when President Bush, in reality, remained seated and listening to "second grade story-hour" while people like my husband were burning alive inside the World Trade Center towers, would run counter to Karl Rove's art direction and grand vision.

Remember the aircraft carrier photo-op? Bush is a man of action; in fact, he is an action hero. Except, of course, when it really counts, like in those early morning hours when this country was under attack and our Commander in Chief was drinking milk and eating cookies with second graders. Can you imagine one of those second-graders years from now when they are asked where they were on the morning of 9/11? They will simply say, "I was sitting with the President reading him a story."

she really slams bush*, Kristin is such a brave woman. I really do admire her courage and determination. Go Kristin!!

3. BTW, Kristen's comments on Chimpy sitting reading to 2nd graders
while her husband died are in the new book by Gail Sheehy - Middletown, America: One Town's Passage from Grief to Recovery.

All the details are in there in Kristen's words, along with details of her and other widows trips to Congress, the stonewalling by the WH, etc.

Next time you're in a bookstore, get your favorite beverage and using the index read her words.

5. Salon Day Pass
I can't get that to work anymore.

Anybody here have any idea as to why?

I basically save everything Breitweiser's written, so I must have a copy of this. Any help?

Thanks.

7. Day Pass---a pain in the ass
I could have sworn that there was a time when you could click on the Day Pass option, sit throught the ad and then you could go directly to the full text of the article. Nowadays, it seems that after watching the ad you get directed to Salon's homepage and have to search for the damned article all over again. Does anyone else have this problem?

6. Outstanding Article. Thank you Ms. Breitweiser.
I salute and admire your courage and your candor. You have done a great service to every American through your tireless efforts. Perchance it will awaken the slumbering masses to demand the answers and accountability from this administration regarding this tragedy which have been glaringly absent thus far.

11. Laura Bush
Just as an aside, I especially liked the tender moments shared between the president and First Lady, particularly when she mentioned the atrocities the Afghan women faced under the rule of the Taliban. We -- the 9/11 widows -- have requested meetings with the First Lady to discuss our goals for the 9/11 Independent Commission. She never answers. Honestly, we take offense that Mrs. Bush will fly halfway around the world to meet with Afghan women and yet she won't meet with us. All we want to do is make this nation safe for our children.

12. Yes silent and detached as always....
......or more likely muzzled by Junior and his handlers. Not at least having a meeting with these women is inexcusable.

13. Doesn't that woman know
that each criticism of the Bush* gov't strengthens America's enemies?

And Tinkerbell's gonna die unless she starts clapping!
