Consider A Way To Help (Bush's brilliant decision to use Clinton
http://www.tampatrib.com/News/MGBPKJ9EJ3E.html

P resident Bush's decision to tap former presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush to coordinate private donations for victims of the South Asia tsunami sends an important message about setting aside differences in the face of disaster.

Clinton and the elder Bush - who have staked out opposing world views - will lead a united effort to encourage individuals and corporations to help restore normalcy to the other side of the world.

In times of disaster, it is great to see people, including former presidents, set aside their differences and come together to accomplish a greater good. Government can't resolve all of society's problems, but people working together can.

1.  I can't help but feel...
...that bush* has appointed his daddy to (1) get Clinton out of the way during the inaguration, and (2) keep an eye on him for a while, all in the name of 'unifying' us for a while. </cynicism>

I HATE being cynical; it's really HARD WORK!

2. Not being cynical about the Bush family is the same as being very naive.
They never do anything without an ulterior motive that is self-serving and duplicitious. You can be very sure of that!!!

6. Today paranoia means being aware of the facts....
Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 01:04 PM by BrklynLiberal
Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are NOT after me. :D

Ask Jim Hatfield, Mel Carhahan, Paul Wellstone, Rep Matsui, the reporter Webb who exposed the Iran-Contra drug connection, the designer of the e-voting machine that could produce a paper trail that was killed by being pushed off a road in Georgia. The list is much longer, but I don't have enough room. I wear my tinfoil hat very proudly.
Herre's a website...and I did not create it:

8. Funny, coming from a poster who loves the idea of bombing Iraq
and turning its grains of sand into glass.

Is Red your favorite color?

3. my hope is that this is a serious miscalculation by bushCo
and will lead to Clinton as the international favorite to replace Annan at the UN when his time is up

4. I don't know why he did this, but when I saw the 3 men together,
all I could say was "I really thought they'd kill each other if they got this close.

I'm positive there's a political angle to shrub's decision, and if he really thinks this move will convince people that he is trying to be bi-partisan and fair, he & Karl are saddly mistaken.

I feel very bad for the people hurt by the Tsunami, and I hope all American people who can afford it will contribute to help them.

None of this fanfare is making me feel any better about shrub or his crazy ideas.
