2. Pastors are citizens just like everybody else
They can do what they want politically. Just look at the Civil Rights movement. What would it have looked like without the faith aspect? I'm not saying this Ames preacher is Martin Luther King Jr., but Churches in this country (and plenty of other places) have a long history of political participation and activism.

Though I'm not religious myself, I would tend to think that pastors should focus on faith and leave politics out of it. But that's just my opinion. I see no reason why pastors shouldn't be politically active if they want to be, even if I don't particularly approve of it.

Hell, I wonder if Jimmy Carter would have even become president if he hadn't put his faith front and center. It was at the core of his public image (and, it's often forgotten, 1976 marked the 'coming out party' of the evangelical vote . . . FOR Carter!)

4. It is difficult to make the distinction between religion and politics.
The easiest thing to do is for government not to be involved in religion.

It is more difficult for people in religion to stay out of politics. They have a place but they need to pay the price so they can be involved.

5. These guys are not evangelicals, they are fundamentalists. The hate
everyone and everything combined with the money is what they are about.
