1. I love the Swedes.
All that sensible fiscal responsibility AND really good health care.
Plus Stig Larsen and Lingonberries.
What's not to like? (Please, that was a rhetorical question.)

5. If you like socialism so much, move to Sweden then
:sarcasm:

America, love it or leave it! :puke:

My loudmouth neocon father bashes Europe every chance he gets, and gets really nasty whenever I say I think that Europe manages their economies better...that, is for the greater good of the populace, and healthy profitable companies are a byproduct of that forward type thinking.

"If you don't like it here, then leave"! He snarls.

6. Awesome! I'm in Sweden now.
Looking for a job (yes, I'm kind of crazy for coming here without a job lined up) but the employment department is optimistic for my prospects. Their employment department is wonderful to visit! You get to sit in a shiny, clean office and have a pleasant conversation with a worker, all to yourself, for 10 minutes or more.

8. bad correlation
a nation of 9 million compared to 309 million? You can't compare the two. The U.S. is so large that such a blow cannot have a super fast recovery

9. It was just as bad a correlation for Sweden in the 1990s as it is now.
When Sweden's economy was suffering in the early 90s, the wisdom of the day stated that Sweden is such a tiny country, so how can they possibly bounce back? They will be crushed!
Excuses, excuses. I agree slightly with you, but only slightly.
The USA is a sinking ship.

10. Not being in a perpetual State of War might be a factor...
Think that might be a reason?
When was the last time Sweden fought a war? 9th Century? 10th century?

12. WP let me read 2 pages of it.
Then asked for user name and password. So the stimulus was more about the social programs in place continuing to function, with a little bit of infrastructure work here and there. And the national bank lowered interest rates to zero and spread money around rather than sitting on it, like here. Anybody get to read points 4 & 5?
