POLL: Should the Justice Department indite Sheriff Joe Arpaio since he won't resign?

The guy uses illegal tactics to fight immigration, sends money overseas, his top officers have been forced to resign but he won't. It's time DOJ gets involved.

1. Do they have evidence enough to indict him?

2. DU doesn't do evidence...
...or due process. We do what is right!

Seriously, this is typical. Eight years of unilateral executive excess under Bush, complaints about the same under Obama -- count the 'due process for Osama' threads, or the 'Obama's comments make a fair trial for Manning impossible threads.

But wait, there's a Republican....GET HIM!

5. I'm not a legal expert, so I don't know...
...I do know they've been digging up some interesting dirt on him. Whether any of it is grounds for indictment? No clue. Pretty sure this isn't going away any time soon, though. He's been waaaaayyyyy too quiet lately. Good sign for us, not for him, imho.

4. Arpaio has spent too much time in his own spotlight
I will completely agree that there needs to be specific evidence to indict Sheriff Joe, but I also believe he has gone from a reputable representative of a tough stance on crime to a parody of himself and someone who feeds on his own press clippings.

There was a time his programs were modeled by other law enforcement officials across the country, and if he had stayed the course, he would still be near impossible to beat. Each election cycle sees him get closer and closer to losing, even in a state that lauds his hyper conservative stance on immigration.

The day is coming when he will figuratively write checks his clout can't cover. We've already seen that his department has written checks his budget couldn't cover.

6. I think there is a federal grand jury deciding that very question.
