Deploying the Wisconsin National Guard is Wrong
There is a reason why Gov. Walker wants to deploy the National Guard in Wisconsin, rather than pay unionized, professional, prison guards, in Wisconsin's state prisons.

Professional correctional officers receive more pay and benefits than Wisconsin's National Guard troops.

Deploying Guard units would enable the Walker administration to place America's Citizen Soldiers into harm's way, for two week tours, without having to honor these dedicated warriors with all of those benefits that the Wisconsin state legislation has seen fit to bestow upon those who serve their state, full time.

But there is more.

You see, the Governor's planned deployment would not even give these Guardsmen the 90+ days they would need to qualify for Active Duty benefits. The Federal government would have to approve the deployment for Wisconsin's citizen soldiers to be able to receive those benefits.

Wisconsin's heroes, therefore, would not even be eligible for the active army's G.I. Bill!

In other words, Governor Walker plans to endanger the lives of those men and women who have volunteered for the Guard, by placing them into the line, without actually owning up to the dangerous service that they would be asked to perform.

The Governor's plan is, therefore, shameful, and a complete disgrace.

A professional corrections officer is (hopefully) trained to deal with prisoners. This is asking for trouble.

This is letting the hens guard the shit house.

4. Don't worry about the National Guard being put in harms way. They can and will do the job. But
since when have state and local and even federal workers plus union workers become the bad guys? You got all republican governors that I see for now wanting to destory their barginning rights away. People need to wake up today its union workers, state, federal and local workers. Who will they go after when they finish with them. Anyone that gets a pension lower your wages. Then will you all be happy. Why is everyone always up in arms against union workers? They fought for their union rights. If you were in a union you would feel the same.

9. not surprosing...
Just when ya think the reich-wing can't get any worse, they do. You can rest assured that these kinds of ideas (screw the taxpayer and the worker) are being disseminated widely among the effing R politicians who want this country to fail. Coached no doubt by the Kochs and their wretched ilk. It's THEM, not the progressive element, who want systemic failure. The T-party is beyond all comprehension...completely bomkers.

11. Walker
Has put the NG on notice in case there is a work stoppage. This sick mofo actually wants the NG to use force against theit brothers and sisters? He keeps this bullshit up and He will find more than state employees at his door in Madtown. All Wisconsin union members must be there to support their fellow members. This is moving faster than I thought it would.
