CBS's Policial Hotsheet blog "Obama's Low Poll Numbers Mirror Past Presidents' "
I've criticized M$M for talking about Obama's ratings without comparing them to past presidents in similar circumstances (recessions). Now CBS, has finally published something mentioning that all presidents ratings go down during recessions. NOw, it's only on the internet blog and not on a broadcast news show, but it's a little bit of a start.

As far as I know though, nobody in M$M has mentioned in a broadcast that the President's ratings compared to other presidents during recessions is actually doing quite well. I compared Pres Obama's ratings to Carter and Reagan's (the only two I could find who had recesssions and who didn't also have other factors (such as wars) to confuse the issue.

The President's ratings are about 44% which the Media keep talking about like it's a sign of Armeggedon (contributes to GOP talking point that people are universally disgusted with Obama and Dems) but if Obama's rating was as sensitive to increasing unemployment rates as Carter and Reagan's (averaged) were, he would be at about 31% instead of 44%.

By the way, this CBS "Political Hotsheet" is one of the easiest sites to sign up on. It would be great if some DUers would start commenting on that site. That way, at least one of the Media companies would see some comments from people who actually THINK, before they speak instead of just seeing rants posted by idiots.

....it's just a thought.
