It's remarkable just how fast the justifications of liberation and freedom get tossed aside for simple racist Arab-bashing isn't it? The fact theat even by the Defense Department's estimate, 60-80% of the prisoners there were innocent civilians pulled off the street seems to elude them. The Red Cross places those estimates closer to 90%. I guess Fox News hasn't been reporting that little snippet of info for them.

Brock's new site http://mediamatters.org just picked up on the Mike Savage line:

Yes, they certainly do. I just finished Kershaw's "Hitler (Nemesis)" and the samples of rhetoric in the first volume (Hubris) are frighteningly similar to the tone set by many GOP spokespeople. However, it's nice to see that the left as a whole is showing a lot more backbone than it did in 20's and 30's Germany.

11. Reminds Me of Nazi Prison Movies

This whole incident reminds me of movies where the American soldiers were being tortured by Nazis to get information. Of course, in those movies, the moral Americans don't give out useful information, escape, and then blow off their interrogator's heads.

(Actually, the survival rate for U.S. prisoners of the Germans was very high. It was the Japanese who were the worst torturers of prisoners during WWII - most U.S. prisoners died.)
