Obama's (Politically) Risky Golf Obsession
Source: CBS News

It is often noted that this president hit the links more frequently in his first nine months than the reared-on-golf George W. did in his first two years (after which W. conspicuously swore off the game out of respect for the troops). Currently ranked eighth on Golf Digest's list of presidential golfers (sandwiched between Clinton and Reagan), Obama seems intent on moving up the ladder--despite reports that he's something of a duffer.

2. Yes, he does. He plays basketball too. And he doesn't take excessive vacation
Bush took more vacation than any other President in history, Obama plays when he is on vacation or on the weekends, when he needs to relax for a few hours. This is a non story imho.

3. Jesus Christ.
Boy, that Obama sure is lazy compared to W.

FUCKING CBS bastards wouldn't bother to note that for Obama to keep pace with Bush's total time out of the Oval Office he would have had to have taken 100 vacation days this year.

5. GW was "on vacation" for 8 years
He was not "there" when he was in any location.

6. He has golf....bush had a bicycle...whats the difference
at least Obama doesn't keep running the golf cart into trees like bush did with the bike.

7. It's also telling that "out of respect for the trrops" has no "scare" quotes
That was bullshit from Day One - Bush had an injury that kept him off the links

8. I never begrudged Bush playing golf.
There were plenty of real issues to fault him for. I'm certainly not going to begrudge Obama or any politician hitting the links. I loathe that faux populist bullshit--like going after John Kerry's windsurfing.
