I hate her for the same reason I hate almost all of the Miss Whatever contestants- THEY ARE SOFA KING DATED!

She looks like a waitress in a restaurant called Rhiannon's. She looks like a future exwife of the guy who started Hooters or the Outback. And the fact that she does it on purpose because it gets her where she's going means she a little bit more of one than anyone would like to admit.

Did they have no clue how she would answer? Was it some kind of power play to see if they could make the pschochristian bow to the powers of Perez Hilton?

On the other hand, had she been smart she would have answered, "I'd like to see world peace in my lifetime, and to think that I could help in some small way to make that happen."

You raise an intriguing question: why DO they ask these questions at pageants?

To prove that the bimbos are really bimbos? To prove that young women who are shallow enough to be in these plastic-woman pageants are indeed dumb as posts? In hopes that one day, a drop-dead gorgeous rocket scientist/philosopher princess with a perfect, lithe body will give us the answer we've all been waiting to hear, articulately expressed, with nary a grammatical error in sight?

18. What a stupid premise, as false as can be

Most of the people who found her answer and subsequent ramblings offensive saw the event repeated on the news. Are all of the people who are ragging on Kanye West's rudeness deeply involved with Video Award shows or was it all over the media? I can quote what Kanye said, but I don't even know the name of the awards show it was on. Never seen either video.
So the entire premise of this OP is false, off base, and meaningless. In fact, the piece could easily add Carrie's fuck up as yet another reason that there should be no such competitions. But to claim that the only people upset by her fuck up are also the dedicated audience of her competition is off base, absurd and in fact, nearly as prejudiced a view as Carrie's own.
But as a straight man, we know you watch nothing but NASCAR and football, right? Can we just assume that? As you do?
