Good morning, brothers and sisters.

Our service originates live today from the First Church of Hypocrisy and Razor Cut Hair, located just a hard right off the Bible Beltway here in Washington, D.C.

For those not familiar with the First Church of Hypocrisy and Razor Cut Hair, or C Street House, it is the Capitol Hill enclave where conservative lawmakers who love Jesus gather for Bible study, prayer circles and covering up when one of their own has mistress trouble.

And now I can see the participants are turning off their blow dryers, joining hands and bowing their heads, which means the service is about to begin. U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, who was instrumental in brokering a financial settlement between Ensign, his mistress and her family, is speaking:

Jesus, we come together this morning to offer thanks.

We thank you for bringing us together.

We thank you for making us rich, powerful white men.

We thank you for not instilling within us empathy.

without him, and The Dot of course, I'd probably not bother reading the paper. Just take the coupons out.
