Why Can't 'Eco-Conscious' Liberals Clean Up After Themselves?
I am NOT a republican, but for those of you who were at the inauguration, is this story true? Was there alot of trash on the ground when you left?

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2009/01/22/why-cant-eco-conscious-liberals-clean-after-themselves

According to WBALTV.com, our nation's capital was a disaster area after Tuesday's festivities:

Inaugural revelers are lucky they didn't get fined for littering.
As crowds cleared the city Tuesday, their trash covered the National Mall and Washington Monument grounds after President Barack Obama's inauguration.

They left behind plastic bottles, newspapers, food wrappers, gloves and American flags they had been waving. Trash bins overflowed with items people tossed.

Poll after poll finds liberals far more willing to accept Al Gore's myth concerning man-made global warming:

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Democrats blame global warming on human activity, compared to 21% percent of Republicans.

Maybe liberals believe man is destroying the planet from firsthand experience.

On the other hand, if liberals in the media really were concerned about the environment like they keep telling us, shouldn't there have been a great deal of coverage regarding this issue?

Or is pollution not a problem when caused by folks supporting your agenda?

Exit question: Is this what inauguration attendees thought Obama meant when he said we needed a new era of responsibility?

1. There's never an excuse for leaving trash like that. Never
regardless of ideological bent

3. Agreed. But it is hypocritical to say "I am for this, do it with me" and then do the exact opposite
Unless there's a good excuse.

What's their excuse? Some will be legit. Most will be cow manure.

2. was there a lottery for who got to post this story, in some mainstream outlet, first??...

i wouldn't want anyone to look at every f***ing large gathering (even smaller ones like DC 2000 & 2004)...and see what is left behind...

yeah, it sucks that there is so much trash...welcome to humanity...it would be nice if we ALL picked up after ourselves, but a couple of million people can generate a whole lot of stuff...

as sad as it may be, that's the way it is...no reflection on the incoming President and his supporters...

on edit: somebody is probably getting paid to clean up...and i bet they AREN'T KBR or Halliburton...

one of the main reasons that the highways are so less-littered than 40 years ago is because of recycling and deposits...not people deciding to not throw crap out their car windows...

And what do you do when the trash cans are all over flowing and stuff is blowing around?

7. Ever been to a baseball game or the movies? Three year old kids drinking water out of a cup.
It's bound to happen.

The organizers know that so they hire people before hand to clean up.

Just like at the ball park.

9. Well... I pay like $30 per tix at the ball park
so I don't worry too much about letting them pick up the cups and stuff

10. Ever been in a packed crowd and tried to bend over to pick something up?
It's a lot of work and might not be feasible sometimes. You have to move numerous other people to do it.

11. OK, I admit, that's true.
I guess I was thinking more like little gum wrappers that I tend to just automatically stick in a pocket to discard later. Or stash in a backpack or something.

But I see how it happens, of course, and I do it myself - as you mention, at ball games.

Mea culpa.

8. Ever been in a huge crowd and drop something?
You drop it, it stays there.

You can pretty much bet there were inadequate trash barrels there, too.

13.  Human Beings are Human Beings sometimes. Plus, your linguistic frame is highly suspect.

While you state you are not a Republican, you hammer on the word "liberals" using short declarative "directed I" statements repeatedly at liberals, using what is now the ubiquitous Hannity-O'Reilly-Savage-Limbaugh Template of Distractional Smearing, which is itself a non-racialized rhetorical descendant of Nazi and KKK methodologies to smear "inferior races" and Liberals in the recent historical past.

I recognize this may be unintentional as the Bushiganda Machine has literally rewritten the National Mind, Dialogue, and Perception of Reality in ways I thought impossible outside of brutal totalitarianism, but it raises hackles and diminishes your credibility immediately.

Having said that, virtually ANY large gathering of human beings is going to leave things in a condition such as you say. Some reasons are mentioned here, such as that bending down to pick up trash in a mosh-pit or a mosh-pit like atmosphere is dangerous, especially for smaller, thinner, weaker individuals who run a higher risk of being trampled. I am sure there are other good ones.

I am NOT condoning it. Ideally, it shouldn't happen. But it does. At every human gathering everywhere since the dawn of time. Probably. If I am exaggerating, then not by much.

Ever been to a gathering of 10,000 or more people that DIDN'T end in a sea of trash?

Your use of what I call the Hannity Template to take a common occurrence that seems to be universal among humans (that large gatherings leave tons of litter it their wake), and make it like LIBERALS are somehow FUCKED UP because they behave LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

Can you see the difference between not condoning such behavior, yet condemning you for your (I assume unwitting) use of the Bullshit Hannity-Savage-Distract-An-Idiot Template to smear Liberals in this fashion?

Sorry if I am harsh with you, even if you did make an honest mistake because like so many of us, including me, the Bushiganda False Reality and Framed Way of Thinking is as much as part of the air we breathe, so pervasive has it become, that one can't help thinking down the avenues they have carved in reality for us to think.

To try otherwise is an endlessly painful and annoying experience, only slightly ameliorated by the occasional begrudging appearance of Token Reality Peddlers like Olbermann and Maddow, who themselves swim in the poisonous Soviet-like Bushigandan-Framed Sea that is American Mainstream Media these days. But trying to stay out of Bushie False Reality is like trying to roller skate on top of railroad tracks.

The skates just keep wanting to slide off and glide on that easier "lower level", which like good advertising, we have been exposed to repeatedly and often for deacdes now, primarily thanks to Democratic cluessness in opposing this Propaganda Infrastructure before it could take root and replace "conventional wisdom", or at the very least building a Propaganda Infrastructure of our own in the interests of strategic balance. (not ideal, but better than THIS insanity)

So I understand why you said what you said and why you said it. I explained why it is a rhetorical false red herring designed to shut off your critical thinking skills by distracting you with meaningless bullshit using pre-designed templates which somehow exploit our common human frailties, since they have worked so successfully at disarming America's National Mind and infantilizing our American National Dialogue.

This is far more significant, IMHO, than the fact that yet ANOTHER gigantic human crowd left a pile of trash in it's wake. What's that make now, #10,746,289 in the last 50 years?
