Hillary: “They LIKE Me, They Really LIKE Me!”
Hillary Clinton is getting sweet and kind treatment by Republicans leading up to her confirmation hearings. Senator Isakson said “she’s had a lot of international experience.” Evidently there’s a case of mass amnesia among Republicans, who have all forgotten their contention that Hillary murdered Vince Foster and conducted lesbian affairs.

1. She's a senator
All senators think theirs is the most important job in the world. They always treat other senators with the respect they think they themselves are due, which is why any senator or ex-senator sails through Senate confirmation.

The only exception I can remember is John Tower.

2. Just watch what they do to Daschle
The religious right wants them to go after him.

3. His confirmation *should* be a cakewalk
I hope you're wrong. Part of why we have had to settle for the folks who are going to be in this administration is because Obama has picked folks who are confirmable, in order to hit the ground running.

4. Of course it should, but. . .
Daschle is pro-choice, and they anti-choice lobby is a key Repub constituency. We'll see how strong their lobbying is based on how contentious those hearings are.
