Apollo astronaut volunteers for Obama

TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- A former Apollo crew member will be knocking on doors for the Obama campaign this weekend.

Rusty Schweickart will join the Obamanauts, Space Coast residents who support Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, in their get-out-the-vote effort this weekend. He will be canvassing with other volunteers Saturday, trying to get registered voters to the polls.

Schweickart, who was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame in 1997, was the Lunar Module pilot on the first NASA mission to test the moon landing vehicle in space.
