Prominent Clinton backer and DNC member to endorse McCain
Posted: 10:07 PM ET

From CNN Political Editor Mark Preston, Extra

A prominent backer of Hillary Clinton is endorsing McCain.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.

The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.

1. She's loaded; maybe she doesn't want to be taxed. I don't care either
way. That's one lousy vote; if she's that ignorant, we don't need her anyway.

16. If she's a 100K-plus donor, she's voting on the issues all right...
...Just not the ones the rest of us are.

3. Her contributions are made under the name...
Lady Lynn de Rothschild. Yup. A putative member of the Brtish peerage and a member of the Rothschild dynasty is somehow concerned about the "elitism" of Barack Obama. The only thing she left out was "uppity".

Who says irony is dead? ;-)

13. Oh, I AM So Sorry About This & PLEASE Forgive Me... I Mean This In
the nicest terms and I will give you an excuse for doing this first. I have OCD and one of my "things" is spelling. Not that I'm immune, done it myself many times and got called on it. So because I HAVE been called out, it makes me remember the next time.

Gee, I DO go on don't I?? Anywho, (not a correct word) a "trader" is someone who might work on Wall Street, a TRAITOR is someone who sticks a knife in your back! Now, the way you used it could apply also, as she may be trading information with others.

One of my most embarrassing moments came a long time ago when I was talking to some important people and used the word "irregardless" and was publicly told that the proper word is "regardless," even though you will find the previous in the dictionary!

I'll shut up now, just had this compulsion!

10. I was concerned until I saw the last name - but an elitist jumping ship is a plus.
Just my uninformed reaction, but I'm probably not alone.

12. It may be possible to have her removed from the DNC
The national rules may be different, but our state party allows for the removal of party officers who support candidates of the other party. There is a petition process which must be followed, and a hearing follows.

I'm not sure what the DNC rules are pertaining to this issue, but it makes no sense to me that someone should be allowed to keep his/her office as a representative of the party if they are publicly supporting the candidate of the other party. Anyone know how to get this in motion?
