The strict regime that is enticing Somalis to go home
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/20...

Somali refugees who fled their anarchic homeland for asylum in Britain are heading back to Islamist-held Mogadishu despite the growing threat of war. Increasing numbers of ethnic Somalis holding Western passports are flying into the newly reopened airport scouting for business opportunities and to assess security in a city that was once a byword for anarchy.

Since a coalition of Islamic courts took control in June by driving out ruthless warlords, residents report huge improvements as public transport has returned, checkpoints have disappeared and food prices have dropped.

However, some hardline elements in the Islamic Courts Union (ICU) have moved to impose rigid Islamic law which has been compared to the Taliban's rule in Afghanistan. Women have been forced into the veil.

This has not deterred people like Mohamud Noor, from London, who has opened an internet cafe in the Somali capital. "There's been a great change here. I was out late last night and the streets were busy. No guns, no checkpoints, no fear at all. It felt safer than London," he said.

2. No, it says a lot more about them
They are going to make their "fortune". Whether or not their wives or daughters suffer, is not considered. They are probably going into the situation thinking that they will be able to change the government in the future.
