Here I am, George... Come and Get Me

Far be it from me to ask the government to take money it needs to wage war and enrich the arms industry to track down yet one more peace activist. Therefore, I consider it my civic duty to say, "Here I am, George. Come and get me." No need to squander cash that could be spent on refining the techniques of torture on costly surveillance projects and electronic wiretaps to track the likes of me.

That overweight middle-aged woman in bifocals standing on the street corner and marching in demonstrations would be me.

Age 48, married, mother of four, high school religion teacher, Catholic, garden-variety activist.

Yes, George, I was the one standing outside the doors of recruitment stations quoting Oscar Romero, who said, "God’s law must prevail. No soldier is obliged to obey an order contrary to the law of God." Not terribly original, I know, but that great cloud of witnesses that goads me on to do this work included people who were so much more articulate than I. At one recruitment center, I even quoted Pope John Paul II who told young people: "Do not listen to voices which speak the language of hatred, revenge, retaliation. Do not follow any leaders who train you in the way of inflicting death." ........

I discovered several weeks ago that your DoD has already been spying on my computer on a daily basis for quite a while...me being a middle-aged, scientist turned homemaker, mother of two, who just happens to be a peace-loving Quaker who has not been to Meeting in many years and who's never even been to a peace rally before.

Boo! Better keep spending tax dollars to watch out for the likes of me!!

and I must be a dangerous character since I work on ecumenism, and say that all paths lead to God. I also work for peace. I'm nearly 55, no children but two grandchildren, married, employed, and someone who >gasp< still believes in the Constitution.

I laugh when I think that the government might be wasting their money on my phone conversations, which contain such earth shattering information as "What do you want me to fix for dinner? Are you going to pick up dog food before you come home?"

It's easy to get me...I walk with a cane. I'm in my sixties, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four great-nephews...and Mr. Bush, you make me sick. You have caused endless suffering and pain for millions and millions of people world-wide. I know that there are other mothers, and grandmothers, living in other countries, who feel the same. You and your bully enablers have got to go.

I haven't updated it for a while, ever since your own atrocities up to and following Katrina spoke volumes to the American people and to the world about your total cluelessness and incompetence (your obvious lack of fitness for office), unfathomable cruel indifference to drowning and starving citizens, and your hidden agenda, epitomized in your remark that Trent Lott would get a new house out of it. At that point it seemed we had finally reached critical mass and I could take a break from warning the world about you and your cabal of duplicitous greed-heads. It has been my great pleasure since then to watch you slowly and desperately unwind in a series of ineffectual PR stunts.

And, yes, you will find my name on countless petitions--I'm on all the "anti-American" e-mail lists like NARAL, A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition, American Progress Action Fund, ACLU, United Farm Workers, etc. etc.--I get probably 6-10 solicitations DAILY for signatures and donations, also countless writings from people who want me to publish them on theBlatantTruth, and also write to Congress people fairly frequently, so you probably have my name on your list already.

So come get me, and charge me with conspiring with myself to make you look like the idiot king that you are. I've been protesting your kind since the 60s (when you were paying people to write your mediocre papers at Harvard and then not showing up even for your cushy goldbrick stint in the Air Natl Guard b/c you were so busy running cocaine for Poppy), and well into the 80s when that stooge Reagan and your evil father traded with the Iranian Khomeini to fund his death squads in Central America (boy, that was a real two-fer of treason, wasn't it? very brilliant on the part of the unAmerican ghouls! No wonder you are so pathetic and so obsessed with trying to make an even BIGGER display of hubris and mass murder.)
