What's your political moment of 2005? British politics, Galloway mentioned
A year of sudden departures, new arrivals, electrifying performances and high drama. Tony Blair won an historic third term in government for Labour - and then suffered his first Commons defeat, on the 90 day detention of terror suspects. The Conservatives crowned their fifth leader in eight years - and took an immediate lead in the opinion polls. And David Blunkett quit the Cabinet for the second time in 12 months. But when the dust settles on 2005 which single event will remain longest in the memory? We want your nominations for the defining political moment of 2005.
It doesn't have to be the biggest event, necessarily, but it does have to be the most memorable - something that, for you, captured the essence of British politics in 2005.

Here are some of your suggestions for the political moment of 2005:
George Galloway's appearance at the US senate has to be the political moment of the year. It was if the new kid walks into school and takes on the chief bully and wins. He wiped the floor and his oratory was stunning

1. "you're doing a heckuva job, brownie"
this may not be the precise moment of shrub's political collapse, but it is emblematic of the whole katrina disaster, which was a political disaster for shrub as well, and a watershed moment for the media coverage of his fraudulency.

2. Whatever happened to Galloway being indicted?
I thought Norm Coleman had come up with some new evidence..?

(or was it as I predicted: the story would be in the news for a coupla days then disappear when they caught the next al-Qaeda #3).
