Vermont Meeting in State Capital Passes Resolution to Secede from US

Historic Vermont Meeting in State Capital Passes Resolution to Secede from the U.S.
The members of a peaceful freedom-fighting group want no part of neo-cons running the imperialistic U.S. government. Plan to secede from the U.S. gaining momentum in the fiercely independent Green Mountain state.
2 Nov 2005

By Greg Szymanski

The neo-con band of criminals running Washington, trampling on civil rights at home and invading countries at will overseas, has led a large group of strong-minded Vermont freedom-fighters with no choice but to secede from the United States.

And last Friday at the state capital building in Montpelier, a historic independence convention was held, the first of its kind in the United States since May 20, 1861, when South Carolina decided to leave the Union.

A packed House Chamber in the Vermont statehouse, with more than 400 gathered, started the daylong secession convention with a speech by keynote James Howard Kunstler, author of The Long Emergency, and ended with a resolution passed to secede from the United States.

15. I live in Vermont. LOVE IT!!!!
Don't know much about the job situation.
I do know that many Vermonters work two jobs because wages are traiditionally low.

I am a professor in a state college. I also see many education/teaching jobs in the papers, but do not know the credentialling requirements.

My husband works for a golf course in the spring/summer/early fall (they just closed) and a ski resort in the winter (Dec-March). Base pay at both seasonal jobs is $7.00 per hour.

The best real estate prices are to be found in the small, rural towns, of course. And I always wonder "what do they do out here for jobs?"

Bigger cities, like Burlington and Bennington, and their surrounding areas probably afford the most possibilities for jobs. Health care and the nursing crises is here, too. So, that's another area for employment in just about every mid-sized town.

State population is about 640,000 people. (yes, not even a million)

Like I said... I love Vermont. Even in the winter.

If they seceeded and I wasn't moving to The Big Island in a couple of years..I would really want to move to Vermont. I love that State of Mind!

17. So how does one get to use the House Chamber of the Vermont statehouse?
Does it have to be booked by someone official, or can any member of the public use it?
