Bird Flu Kills Aflac Duck
Bird Flu Kills Aflac Duck

ATLANTA, GA – Avian influenza (bird flu) claimed the life of The Aflac Duck today, becoming the first American waterfowl to fall victim to the disease.

The Aflac Duck apparently contracted the disease while on a publicity tour in Japan a couple of days ago.

“The Japanese people are deeply saddened by this tragedy,” said Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi today....http://www.bsnews.org/articles/75

(someone made this connection a couple of days ago on these boards, I thought it was funny, so i made this. it's not really political, as much as it is currents events, but, well, enjoy!)

2. I have a nephew whose wife will dance with glee over his demise.
Being a devout Southern Baptist, she was horrified to hear her 3-year-old son saying "Awww, fuck!" After administering a swat to his backside and sitting him in "time-out" for a while, she asked him where he had heard such language. He tearfully told her, "On TV." Since they carefully monitor watch their kids watch, she didn't see that was possible, but she continued probing and the little tyke admitted the offending language came from "the duck on the commercial."

Yep ... you guessed it ... Little junior had misunderstood the Aflac duck!

3. Awww....
actually, as commercials go, it wasn't bad.

But the real question is - did he work while he was sick, despite the insurance? Was he egged on by his heartless employer? And - did he have good medical care, or was he treated by a quack?

Frankly, I suspect this can be laid at the doorstep of the BFEE.

Avian flu isn't necessary, but extended sick leave for allergies would be PROH-PER.
