Great Editorial! (Waterville, Maine Morning Sentinel)
Exactly when is it appropriate to be skeptical of the news coming out of the White House? Question the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and you're accused of sympathy for the devil. Question the administration's secret energy policy meetings and you're guilty of an attack on the Constitution's separation of powers. Question judicial nominees and you suddenly become an ideological obstructionist.

But Americans are right to ask questions of President George W. Bush, and they're right to expect honest answers.

2. Actually,
This is the editorial position of the paper itself!!! Much better than a letter!!!

It's truly nice to have a newspaper that is not run by one of the big media conglomerates (Blethen--who led the fight against the FCC deregulation by enlisting Olympia Snowe into the fight)...

3. a Bug at their site prevented my sending this to them:
Thanks for bringing this great editorial to our attention. I wanted to compliment them, but couldn't. It's a shame to write a letter no one will read, so here it is:
"Dear Editor:
Where do get the nerve to question the credibility of the guy the Supreme Court made President? Don't you know that "God is on his side". Oh! that was Hitler's moto, wasn't in?

Anyway, how come this paper isn't owned by Bush's fat cat friends, like all the major news outlets? If you aren't careful, you're going to get yourself bought out. And where are the people of Maine going to go to hear the truth THEN ? "

5. Waterville, Maine! A great place to be!
Edited on Thu Jul-17-03 01:11 PM by MarianJack
My family moved from Philadelphia in June, 2002. We traded Rendell for Baldacci (A push), but we also traded "No outside hoagies at Eagles games because of 9/11" for The Morning Sentinel, which I heard a right winger cry about it's "Liberal Bias". This was a BIG plus.

There was also a great op/ed piece on Tuesday, 7/15 about a repentant nader voter.

6. Yeah, Waterville is cool!
I've been seriously enjoying the film festival this week too...(Peter Fonda was AMAZING as special guest the other night during "Easy Rider"). I just moved back myself after a 15 year absence about 4 years ago...I truly plan on sticking around here!!!
