Time For Freepers to STFU!
A NOTE TO YOU FREEPERS, AND THE FEW REMAINING BUSH SUPPORTERS- IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO SHUT UP.

Okay, let's assume the freeper babble, and the Fox "News" commentary is 100% correct- Mayor Nagin was smoking Crack, and Governor Blanco was watching "Monk" DVDs, when the hurricane hit the gulf coast, and danced, arm-in-arm, on the bloated bodies of the dead of New Orleans. Let's assume that every bit of blame for the damage in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, lies solely on the shoulders of these two people (who just happen to be democrats.)

I'll give you ALL of this- have fun with it.

But, you were the people who told us, time and time again, that we were the ones who didn't care about our nation's safety. You were the ones who kept doggedly believing that Bush was the man we could rely in case of a national disaster. He was the one, you told us, would keep us "safe".

Gee- we see his grand plan, in retrospect, now, eh? So much for his vaunted powers as "protector of the homeland".

We saw your golden boy act- day by day. We saw him relax on his ranch, for days, while doom approached. We saw his response, when he played golf, and strummed a guitar, as Katrina made landfall. We saw the magnificent "threat response system" that Bush forged, in action, over the past week, as thousands starved in a feces-streaked superdome. We saw his magnificent cabinet, in action- whether it be Condi Rice shopping in manhattan, as Katrina made landfall, Cheney off the radar, or the horse-racing fixer Bush appointed as director of FEMA, showing his ass, daily...

Tell me- are you proud of what you've wrought? Do you still feel safe? If a backpack nuke went off in downtown L.A, would you still think that Bush and his "crack team" were such great folks, FIVE DAMNED DAYS LATE, in rendering federal assistance?

Shut up- just SHUT UP. You are KILLING PEOPLE- do you REALIZE THIS?

When we tried to warn you about the dangers of Bush's planned invasion of Iraq, you called us "Traitors"

It's time for you to shut up.

When we warned of the dangers of having a huge percentage of our national guardsmen and women, fighting halfway around the world in an illegal and unjust war, you said we were "coddling terrorism."

It's time for you to shut up.

When we warned about Bush's drastic cuts to our national infrastructure (including an 80% cut for the Army corps of engineers budget for the levees in New Orleans), in favor of tax cuts for the richest 1% of americans, you called us "communists" and "class warriors"

It's time for you to shut up.

You've prattled on for well onto five years- you've dominated the press, and the national discourse. Your heroes- Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh- WE'RE SICK OF IT.

Your spin ends now.

It's time for you to shut up...

1. Good points but I for one do not want the freepers to shut up
The more they talk the more they sink themselves. I think the entire Bush Family and the heads of the freeper cult should be given as much coverage as they want so they show America the true face of their "compassionate conservatism"

5. Don't worry.........
They will not just shut up. Its well known in the Psychiatric field that once the suspicion of being wrong enters your mind, you will fight to the death, figuratively, to defend the falsehood. Hate to admit defeat, dontcha know!

9. Very interesting.
This came up in another thread where a couple emailed a guy after he wrote a letter to the editor of a local newspaper. The couple said the original letter writer was "mean-spirited"! I couldn't understand why it's mean-spirited to ciritcize the president but a-ok to hate the poor.

Someone replied that these people know Bush is a loser of a president and they think it is mean-spirited of the rest of us to keep pointing it out.

BTW - is there a name for this "fight to the death" behavior?

I don't know if there is a clinical term for it, but it is commonly seen in individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder as well as Antisocial Personality Disorder .

26. I agree with you, they've totally jumped the "meanass, uncaring, greedy,
and selfish" shark.

And people are realizing that if disaster befell them, these assholes might not help THEM either.

So let them enjoy their right of free speech. All their hate-filled pronouncements are landing with a huge thud. The meaner they get, the more they offend!!!

2. If Nagin and Blanco dropped the ball... why didn't Bush pick it up?
That's the question the Bush apologists can't or won't answer.

They've decided in their own, tiny little minds that local and state are to blame.

Okay, let's say that's the case, just for the sake of argument. Then how come their "bold, decisive, making-us-safe war president" just let the whole house of cards tumble to the ground at that point?

Maybe they just don't want to say it out loud: Bush is a phony. He's no leader. He's an idiot, and a wuss.

Must suck to be a Bush-bot these days.

7. Indeed, why DIDN'T Bush pick it up?
He seems to like to imagine himself as a John Wayne-type tough-guy cowboy, but he isn't. He's a fake, a failure, a fraud. The real John Wayne (at least the movie persona) would have kicked ass and taken names. If John Wayne's movie persona saw that an integral part of the emergency response system had fallen apart, or was not working at all, he would have been all over it, and done something to help people.

As they say, Bush is all hat, no cattle.

14. imagine a terrorist attack on Dalla; mayor + gov don't get everything
together and response is confused and people are dying

.....W supposedly steps in at once after attack and saves everyone and all the buildings and all the banks and all the money and etc......that's what W is believed to be ready to do

if he can't do it for a natural disaster HOW CAN ANYONE BELIEVE HE CAN DO IT FOR A TERRORIST ATTACK????

IMO, Katrina destroys any W and republican claim to be the ones who can protect the US

22. Just a couple of questions here
If the half the state's infrastructure has been wiped out just how can first responders do what they are supposed to do? That leaves it copmletely to the Federal government to act. The failure to do so constitutes egregious dereliction of duty. The second question is if Katrina had hit Houston where Bush's parents live would we have seen the same inept response by the FEMA and the rest of the Federal government? Oh one other question just off the cuff, why was the response so much better in Florida last year when that state was devestated by count em 4 major hurricanes? Could it just have been that had Jeb or another Republican been the governor of LA we might have seen a completely different response play out?

24. I'm afraid those questions are too complicated for a Bush supporter.
They're stumped by something as simple as "Why didn't your leader lead?"

4. I shot in an action pistol competition yesterday and
went to lunch with some of the other shooters. A couple of the folks voiced some of the ugliest racist comments I had heard in years. Some of these people get all their news from Faux and Oxy-Rush. I think they should be even more vocal, so we can see exact what makes up the Bush base.
