Helen Thomas: Word from Bush could end prison abuse
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/opinion/229938_thomas26.html

Is President Bush living on Mars? Is he tone deaf?

At a news conference last month, he wrote off as an "absurd allegation" the conclusion by Amnesty International that the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, was the "new Gulag" because of the mistreatment of prisoners there.

Bush insisted that "the United States is a country that promotes freedom around the world, and when there are accusations about certain actions by our people, they're fully investigated in a transparent way."

"It's just an absurd allegation," he said.

<snip>

Does he read the reports? Does he care?

he cares very much about torture. he WANTS there to be torture. inflicting pain on others is one of the few things he's passionate about.

5. It Would Take Two Words: "I Resign"
The Bush family are consumate parasites, heads and shoulders above any of the other maga-rich. If the other mega-rich had any brains or even hearts, they would shut down the entire BFEE BushCo as an act of self-defense. Bush will eat their lunch, too. He's started already, but they have enough fat that they won't notice for a bit (but I am guessing that it won't be much longer--these things are exponential and once they get going, damn hard to stop).
